Introduction: The Artist Behind the Veil
Greetings. I am Peti Triot. I have chosen to keep my real-world identity hidden, existing solely as an anonymous artist within the blockchain community. While some may know me through my association with the so-called “Trillion Dollar Club” of the blockchain space, my true focus lies at the intersection of technology, human psychology, and art. My work is deeply inspired by the conceptual art of the 1970s—particularly Hans Haacke’s News—and the minimalist installation art of the 1980s, alongside the aesthetic philosophies of Jacques Rancière and Boris Groys.
The World’s First Blockchain Installation Art
In early 2023, I collaborated with the Korean art agency Ongroo Inc. and the blockchain platform Everscale to present the world’s first blockchain-based installation art. This project was exhibited at Gallery Hwroo in Seoul, South Korea.
It was designed not just as a visual display, but as a grand social experiment. I wanted to ask a fundamental question: What suppressed thoughts and untold stories do people reveal when granted absolute, unbreakable anonymity?
The Mechanics of the Experiment
To achieve this, I utilized technology to create a safe, untraceable space for public expression:
- Absolute Anonymity via Qamon: By leveraging “Qamon,” an encrypted, Everscale blockchain-based anonymous messenger, I created a massive digital bulletin board where the sender’s identity could never be traced.
- Real-Time Blockchain Broadcasting: The moment a participant sent their honest thoughts, the message was instantly encrypted, permanently recorded on the blockchain, and simultaneously broadcasted to the public via a live YouTube stream and Twitter.
- Physical Manifestation and NFTs: To bridge the digital and physical worlds, every 144th message received was printed using a Braille printer for the visually impaired. These physical, tactile records were then converted into NFTs and exhibited in the offline gallery space.
Beyond Visual Arts: A Musical Evolution
While my roots are in blockchain and installation art, my artistic expression has recently expanded. I have ventured into the realm of music, releasing Pop and Electronic tracks such as Daepar Revolution, Honjjigeom Chalttok, and Idiot Trio on global platforms like Apple Music.
Whether through an encrypted message on a blockchain or an electronic beat, my goal remains the same: to capture and express the hidden, unfiltered voices of the modern world.
